
The Great Western Greenway
Escape the bustle of urban life on the 42km Great Western Greenway, the longest off-road walking and cycling trail in Ireland. The World Class Great Western Greenway is a traffic free cycling and walking trail which follows the route of the renowned Westport to Achill railway which closed in 1937.

Westport Golf Club
Westport Golf Club, which played host to the 2002 Smurfit Irish P.G.A. Championship, is a magnificent 18 hole parkland course with breath taking views of Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay. A comfortable opening six holes allow the foundation of a solid round to be laid before the course steps up a gear with the newly shaped 7th hole.

Westport House & Pirate Adventure Park
18th Century Westport House is privately owned and operated by Jeremy Browne ( The 11th Marquess of Sligo) and his family, who are direct descendants of Grace O’ Malley, the famous 16th Century Pirate Queen of Connaught, it provides a full days fun.

Clew Bay Archaeological Trail
This is a trail of 21 archaeological and historical sites which takes you through the magnificent scenery of Clew Bay and its islands.

Croagh Patrick Stables
Couldn’t be set in more scenic and idillic surroundings. Shadowed by the world renown pilgrimige mountain of Croagh Patrick and just a stone’s throw away from the lovely Berthra Beach, its location gives a huge variety of treks and adventure on horse back.

Ballycroy National Park
Ballycroy National Park was established in November 1998, it is Ireland’s sixth National Park and is located on the Western seaboard in northwest Mayo. It comprises of 11,000 hectares of Atlantic blanket bog and mountainous terrain, covering a vast uninhabited and unspoilt wilderness dominated by the Nephin Beg mountain range.

Clare Island Ferry
The Clare Island Ferry Company is owned and operated by the O’Grady family, natives of Clare Island, who have been operating the Clare Island Mail Boat Ferry service since 1880. The "Clew Bay Queen" (see picture) is the largest ferry operating to Clare Island and Inisturk. It has a certificate to carry 96 passengers during summer.
